I build systems where being wrong is expensive — ad infrastructure at Google, insurance claims and underwriting at Chelsea Avondale, and now compliance software that a provincial regulator reads.

01About
I'm a software engineer with five years of experience across companies large and small — Chelsea Avondale (Skynet Software), Google, Snap, Gem, Wish, Baron Biosystems, Validus Research and Department of National Defence. I studied Software Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
The thread running through all of it is that I like problems with real constraints. At Google and Snap that meant large C++ codebases where a migration touches a hundred files and correctness is the whole job. At Wish it meant database infrastructure where the failure mode was a node lock lasting twelve hours. At Chelsea Avondale it meant the parts of an insurance platform nobody wants to get wrong — claims subrogation, policy cancellations and reinstatements, the underwriting lifecycle. Lately it means AXYS, where the constraint is a provincial regulator and the cost of being wrong is a carrier's operating licence.
Right now I'm building AXYS full time — compliance software for Ontario trucking carriers.

Chelsea Avondale
(Skynet Software)Insurance platformSoftware Engineer
- Architected and delivered a mission-critical Complaints Management Module, implementing granular access controls, multi-level escalation workflows, and real-time SLA tracking countdown timers.
- Spearheaded the development of the platform's largest feature domain, the Claims Subrogation Subsystem, delivering analytical dashboards, automated task splitting, and privileged legal department visibility.
- Designed and deployed an enterprise Business Development Dashboard, isolating it into a standalone modular submodule featuring an interactive meetings calendar, Trustpilot integrations, and dynamic performance KPI metrics.
- Owned core insurance lifecycle logic, engineering high-risk features including Underwriting-head policy rollback cancellations, automated policy reinstatements, and multi-tenant child broker transfer mechanisms.
- Led a multi-month component modernisation initiative, eliminating legacy jQuery/AJAX technical debt by engineering custom vanilla JavaScript web components wrapped in a secure token authentication wrapper.
